Manufactured Stone Tiles
Bathroom, Kitchen, Living Room, Garage
We had a great experience at this store. We bought tiles for our 4 bathrooms, laundry room, pantry, 2 fireplaces and all of our hardwood and vinyl. Prices are reasonable and their customer service is great. Dina was amazing and so friendly! She’s very knowledgeable and she offered so many great suggestions to help with our selection. She’s a gem! We also met the owner Steve and he was also great We’ve recommended this place to all our friends and we’ll continue to do so.
Very knowledgeable and helpful.
Really great selection and people. They have good quality and a wide selection that works for all budgets. All their materials are good quality. Yani was incredibly helpful and helped us make some good decisions for our kitchen and washroom renovations. They have a lot more than tiles, including shower and bath systems and hardware. We found a good quality trough drain here too. We are repeat customers and this was the second time sourcing from this fine business.
They were very helpful to us in planning our shower installation. We bought porcelain tiles and a sliding door, both for a very reasonable price. We are considering a pre-fab floor, which is expensive, but promises better performance than the alternative. I would definitely recommend them highly.
Needed builder tile for a 5 year old home (homeowner had only 41 pieces and I needed about 100). Had no idea what tile it was. The team at Ceramic Tile helped me figure out what the tile was, ordered it in and got me working within 1 business day! Thanks guys!
We had a great experience at Ceramic Tile World. Dina was amazing and super helpful. The have a huge selection and they were able to work with our tight timeline. Will definitely go back for future projects.
Very helpful staff, great selection. Dina was great and helped out with design options. Couldn’t be happier, we’d go back for sure. Have kitchen and washroom renovations coming up, we have our tile store.
Knowledgeable staff, family run business, large sample tiles that I could move around to compare different options in the showroom. Got a great deal on some end of stock tiles for a kitchen project and had enough leftover to tile the front hall!
Everyone I’ve dealt with here has made my shopping process enjoyable. They have a great selection of tiles from all the big companies and better prices. Sales staff are willing to work through design ideas with me and can pull out tiles to support my “vision”. Responsive via email, happy to send sample boards home.
Is There a Difference Between Floor Tile and Wall Tile?
Floor tile is made thicker and harder to withstand foot traffic, appliances, furniture, etc. And most have added texture to reduce the risk of slips. Wall tile tends to be thinner, smoother and more delicate. It’s also much slicker when it’s wet, which is why wall tile is not recommended underfoot.
Can Wall Tile Be Used on the Floor?
Wall tile is not suitable for use on floors. It is usually non-vitreous, i.e. not manufactured to withstand excessive impact, abrasion or freeze/thaw cycling.
Should Bathroom Floor and Wall Tile Be the Same?
There are two schools of thought when it comes to tiling the bathroom or kitchen. One camp says that the wall and floor tiles should complement each other but should not match. This is because matching floor and wall tiles make a room feel smaller and more closed up.
Which Tiles Are Good for Flooring?
For flooring, Vitrified tiles are the best bet since they are durable and can withstand heavy traffic.
Can Tiles Be Too Heavy for a Wall?
The maximum weight of tiling which can be supported by a dry, well-adhered plaster background is 20kg/m². This will allow you to go up to about 100kg m2. You will also need to use the correct adhesive for the tile size and weight, not tubbed adhesive!
Do Porcelain Tiles Need to be Sealed?
Often, ceramic and porcelain tiles do not need sealing. However, sometimes they need a light application of a seeping sealer to fill the tile surface’s micropores. Take note, though, that the cement-based grout joints between the tiles are highly penetrable.
Do You Tile Walls or Floor First?
Because the wall tile should hang over the floor tile, it can be more complicated to install tile on the wall first. However, starting your project with tile installation on the walls first can help you to avoid unfortunate messes and damage related to mishaps with the mortar and tile.
Do Large Tiles Make a Room Look Bigger or Smaller?
Larger Tiles Make Small Rooms Appear Bigger. Because grout lines are thinner and fewer as part of the layout, smaller rooms appear bigger when using larger tiles. Large-format tiles make floors look more streamlined therefore, creating the illusion of more space.
Can Floor Tile Be Used as Backsplash?
For easier installation and a solid design, use larger tiles to create your kitchen backsplash. For this project, you can even use recycled floor tiles. This Hometalker used dark marble tiles for a glossy, reflective backsplash.
Should Floor Tiles Be Darker Than Walls?
The tiles on the bathroom floor and wall do not have to match, as typically, the floor is darker than the walls. Whether you install dark tiles or lighter-colored tiles, they should always look sparkling and be free of debris, as darker tiles are quicker to show stains and dirt.
